On Oct. 1, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the hand warmers.
According to the CPSC, the lithium-ion battery and electrical components in the hand warmers can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury from fire and burn hazards.
Are the Hand Warmers Recalled?
Yes, Kobayashi Consumer Products, LLC, of Dalton, Georgia announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves HotHands rechargeable hand warmers. The white with orange hand warmers were sold in sets of two warmers that can be magnetically joined together and include a charging cable. The hand warmers have a USB-C port to charge the built-in lithium-ion batteries in each unit. Model number “H163650” can be located on the hand warmer’s underside, and the white HotHands logo is on the top. Only electric rechargeable hand warmers with the white HotHands logo are included in this recall.
The hand warmers were sold through Bass Pro Shops, Meijer, Target and The Home Depot and other stores nationwide and online, including Amazon.com from July 2025 through August 2026 for between $30 and $40.
