On June 4, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the heated insoles.
According to the CPSC, the internally placed lithium-ion battery may explode or ignite, even when the insoles are turned off. This poses a serious risk of burn injury and fire hazard.
There are currently 26 known reports of the heated insoles catching on fire or exploding, resulting in at least 23 burn injuries, including serious second and third degree burns to the consumer.
Are the COOWALK/COOWALI Heated Insoles Recalled?
No, Shenzhen Kubuzhineng Kejiyouxiangongsi has been unresponsive to CPSC requests for a recall.
This warning involves “COOWALK” or “COOWALI” heated insoles. The insoles come in black or red, contain a lithium-ion battery in the heel area and are operated by a remote control.
The heated insoles were sold online through Amazon.com and GearTrade.com from Aug. 2022 through May 2026.
