OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmers Recall Lawsuit

On July 30, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the rechargeable hand warmers.

According to the CPSC, the lithium-ion battery in the hand warmers can overheat and ignite while in use, posing a serious risk of injury or death from fire and burn hazards.

There are currently 1,480 reports of hand warmers overheating, resulting in 15 fires and 350 burn injuries, leading to the death of a consumera consumer in February 2026.

Yes, Shenzhen Street Cat Technology Co., Ltd., dba OCOOPA Direct, of China announced a product safety recall.

This recall involves OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmers. They were sold in a variety of colors and designs in two packs that can be magnetically joined. They feature LED indicator lights, a silicone lanyard, and the word “OCOOPA,” can be found printed at the top of each warmer. The recall features models:

  • UT3056
  • ZLS-118
  • ZLS-118S
  • ZLS-118D
  • H01
  • H01(PD)

The rechargeable hand warmers were sold online through Amazon.com, Ocoopa.com, Ocoopa.net and Walmart.com from Sept. 2018 through May 2026 for between $15 and $60.
