On April 30, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the portable bed rail.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the bed rails may violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails. Users may become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. This poses a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. The bed rails also may not meet structural stability requirements, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
Are the Portable Bed Rails Recalled?
Yes, Mobility Source Medical Technology Co., Ltd. of China announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves Hepo adult portable bed rails, model 110039. The bed rails have white tubing with black foam rubber handle grips and a black fabric pouch.
The bed rails were sold online through Amazon.com from June 2025 through Jan. 2026 for between $35 and $40.
