On March 26, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the bed rail.
According to the assessment of CPSC, may become entrapped within the bed rail, or between the bed rail and the side of the bed. This poses an entrapment hazard, asphyxiation risk, or possibility of death.
There are currently two reports of entrapment deaths associated with one model of the recalled bed rails. The deaths occurred in Sept. 2024 .
Are the Bed Rails Recalled?
Yes, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Vive Health LLC, of Naples, Florida announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves the following makes and models:
- Vive Health Compact Bed Rail (model LVA2009SLV)
- Bed Rail Collection V (model LVA2097SLV)
The recalled bed rails are made of silver or white metal tubing with a black foam rubber grip handle. The recalled bed rails may not contain model numbers or brand-specific labels.
The bed rails were sold through Vive Health, who sold about 122,000 units of the recalled bed rails at medical supply stores nationwide and online at www.vivehealth.com, Amazon and other online medical supply stores. The bed rails were sold from Sept. 2019 through Dec. 2025 for between $45 and $90.
