On Jan. 29, 2026 , The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the Trek and Electra e-bikes.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the rear wheel bolts may break when torqued, causing the wheel to separate from the bike. This poses a fall and crash hazard and could increase the risk of injury to consumers.
There are currently seven reports of the rear bolts breaking.
