On Oct. 16, 2025 The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using Yamaha golf cars. Due to a current brake malfunction, the vehicle may fail to stop. This issue poses a potential crash risk, and could lead to injury or death.
Are Certain Yamaha Golf Carts Recalled?
Yes. Yamaha Golf Car Company, of Kennesaw, Georgia has announced a product safety recall.
This recall includes model years 2017-2024 DR2A and DR2E Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs) with serial numbers that begin with J0D, J0E, and J2D. The serial number is located on the handlebars on the left side of the rear row of seats of the vehicle. The recalled golf cart vehicles were sold in a variety of colors including white, and black.
This product was sold at Yamaha dealers nationwide from June 2018 through July 2025 for between $9,500 and $13,000.
