Yamaha PA-300C AC Adapter Recall Lawsuit

Yamaha Corporation of America has recalled its Yamaha PA-300 AC Adaptors. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled power cord adaptors.

What is the Problem?

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the AC power adaptors can overheat and ignite, posing burn and fire hazards. The CPSC has received at least four reports of the adapters burning or smoking. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the power cords immediately.

Is My AC Adapter Included in this Recall?

The May 8, 2025, recall includes about 38,000 Yamaha PA-300C AC Power Adapters that were sold with Yamaha-branded workstations, digital pianos, and music control panels. The PA-300C adapters were also sold with Steinberg-brand audio interfaces. The AC adapters are black and have the model’s name and model number printed on the AC adapter rating label. The power adapters were sold separately as a service part as well as built into certain Yamaha-branded Clavinova digital pianos.

The recalled power cords were sold at music stores nationwide and online, including Shop.usa.yamaha.com, from September 2010 through November 2014 for about $70.
