XpressGoods Magnetic Balls Recall Lawsuit

XpressGoods’ magnetic balls have been recalled due to ingestion hazards. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC are currently accepting new magnetic ball lawsuits. Learn more below.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled XpressGoods’ high-powered magnetic balls due to the risk of ingestion to children. The recall was posted on Dec. 7, 2023.

According to the recall notice, the CPSC tested the safety of the XpressGoods’ magnetic balls and determined that the magnetic balls do not meet federal safety standards. The CPSC also found that the magnets are stronger than permitted and can be easily swallowed. If the magnetic balls are consumed, the magnets can attract each other and cause obstruction in the digestive system, leading to perforations, twisting, or blocking of the intestines. An infection, blood poisoning, and death can also occur.

Approximately 728 products are included in the recall.

The recall affects Colorful Metal Neodymium Magic Magnetic Balls that are 5mm and come in eight colors. The magnetic balls are small, spherical, loose, and separable.

There are an estimated 2,400 magnet ingestions treated in hospital emergency rooms from 2017 to 2021, with seven deaths.

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled magnetic balls immediately and to keep them away from children.
