Vevor Baby Gates Recall Lawsuit

Sanven Technology has recalled its Vevor Baby Gates. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled baby gates.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the gates violate federal safety regulations for expansion gates and expandable enclosures. In August 2020, the CPSC adopted the Safety Standard for Gates and Enclosures, which requires baby and child gates to meet certain safety criteria, including:

  • Completely bounded openings;
  • The height of the sides of the gate;
  • Push-out force strength; and
  • Locking mechanism integrity.
  • However, according to the CPSC, a child’s torso could fit through the opening between the gate slat and side wall of the Vevor Baby Gates, posing an entrapment hazard to children.

About 420 Vevor Baby Gates were included in the recall on October 31, 2024. They are marked “Vevor, Tough Tools Half Price” on the handle and come with five screws and four wall cups. The pressure-mounted gates open both inward and outward. They are made of powder-coated iron and plastic material. They come in black and white colors. The gates measure about 30 inches high with an adjustable width of about 29.5 inches to 39 inches.

The baby gates were sold online at eBay.com, AliExpress.com, and Overstock.com from February 2024 through May 2024 for about $45.
