Twin-Star Quartz Electric Fireplace Recall Lawsuit

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Twin-Star International’s infrared quartz electric fireplaces due to fire hazards. The recall was issued on Nov. 9, 2023.

According to the CPSC, the recalled electric fireplaces can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

Twin-Star electric fireplaces are exclusively sold at Lowe’s. Both Twin-Star and Lowe’s received 24 reports of their electric fireplaces overheating, catching fire, or smoking.

Approximately 14,670 electric fireplaces were recalled.

What electric fireplace models are included in the recall?

Twin-Star electric fireplaces included in the recall are 42 inches wide with model number 42HF295FGT, manufactured before January 2023. The recall includes the following date codes:

  • 0521
  • 0322
  • 0422
  • 0522
  • 0622
  • 0722
  • 0822

Date codes are printed on the electric fireplace’s back panel.

The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled electric fireplaces and unplug the product.
