On June 6, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the elevator interlock switches.
According to the CPSC, the interlock switches can become stuck in a retracted position, allowing the exterior door of the elevator to remain unlocked, posing a risk of death or serious injury if the elevator is called to another floor.
There is currently one report of the elevator interlock switch becoming stuck.
