On June 11, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the electric kettle.
According to the CPSC, the kettles can pressurize and release hot steam or liquid unexpectedly, posing a risk of serious burn injury hazard.
There are currently 116 reports of kettles releasing hot liquid or steam unexpectedly, resulting in 89 injuries, including second- and third-degree burns.
Are the Sekaer Electric Kettles Recalled?
No, Sekaer Store, has been unresponsive to CPSC’s requests for a recall of these kettles.
This warning involves all Sekaer portable electric kettles. The kettles are travel-size, stainless-steel water boilers with 330, 380, 400 or 500 mL capacities. They are black, white, green, white with gold, black with gold or gray with silver. The Sekaer logo is printed on the kettle’s front and model number SY-618, SKE-833, SKE-840 or SKE-850 appears on the product packaging.
The electric kettles are sold on Amazon.com, Walmart.com, eBay.com and Sears.com.
