On Oct. 30, 2025, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the mentioned UTVs from Polaris.
Other common name(s) for these types of off-road vehicles include the following:
- Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV)
- Side-By-Sides
- Recreational Offroad Vehicle (ROV)
Due to an improperly routed alternator cable, the UTV may experience an electrical short. This product malfunction may lead to the UTV smoking, or catching fire, and puts the consumer at potential risk of receiving a burn serious injury.
Are Polaris UTVs Recalled?
Yes. Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minnesota has announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves certain VINs of Polaris Model Year 2025-2026 Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar and Ranger Crew XP 1000 NorthStar golf carts. The recalled vehicles were sold in black, blue, bronze, brown, camouflage, gray, orange, red and white, with the word “POLARIS” found on the front grill.
These products were sold in store nationwide at Polaris dealers from March 2025 through August 2025 for between $28,000 and $38,000.
