The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Peg Perego’s inclined sleeper bassinets for YPSI and Z4 strollers due to choking and falling hazards. The recall was posted on Nov. 30, 2023.
According to the CPSC, the recalled bassinets violate the Safe Sleep for Babies Act due to having an inclined angle greater than 10 degrees and not possessing a stand.
In the past, the attorneys at Johnson//Becker have handled multiple cases involving infant fatalities from inclined sleeper products, which occurred due to the infants being able to roll from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained.
Approximately 550 inclined sleepers are included in the recall.
What models are included in Peg Perego’s inclined sleeper recall?
The recall affects compact bassinets that were sold separately from the Peg Perego YPSI and Z4 strollers. Bassinets manufactured on or after June 23, 2022 are included in the recall, and are printed in the YYY/MM/DD format located in the hood of the bassinet.
