On April 16, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the pocket staff.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the protective pin on the Magic Pocket Staffs may fail to prevent unintentional expansion, posing a serious projectile and laceration hazard to consumers. When engaged, the expansion can occur too rapidly for users to react.
There are currently 163 reports of incidents involving injuries to the eyes, face and hands. Injuries include corneal lacerations, temporary vision loss and injuries requiring stitches. Many of the reports involved children as young as nine years old.
