On Nov. 20, 2025, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the MoonSoll & Magic Chems fuel bottles made by Demlar LLC.
The fuel containers may violate the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act as the bottles are missing a flame mitigation device. Additionally, the disclaimers featured on the bottle may be deceptive according to the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) as it makes the claim that the bottles are non-toxic. These potential violations increase the possible risk for flash fire, and injury.
Are the Fuel Bottles Recalled?
Yes. Demlar LLC, owner of the MoonSoll and Magic Chems brands dba Demlar Online Store, of Casper, Wyoming has announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves Demlar’s bottles of MoonSoll-branded ethanol and Magic Chems-branded bioethanol fuel, used for tabletop fire pits, fireplaces, stoves and burners. They were sold individually or as a pack of three and in 500mL and 1000mL capacities. The brand name and capacity are printed on the front of the bottle’s label.
The fuel bottles were sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through July 2025 for between $16 and $32.
