Milwaukee Chainsaw Recall Lawsuit

On Oct. 30, 2025, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using Milwaukee M18 chainsaws.

Due to a product malfunction, the chain brake of the chainsaw may not activate when use is attempted. This poses a potential increased risk of injury, and a possible laceration hazard.

There are currently two reports of the chain brake not activating, including one allegedly leading to a finger laceration.

Are Milwaukee M18 Chainsaws Recalled?

Yes. Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., of Brookfield, Wisconsin has announced a product safety recall.

This recall involves the M18 fuel chainsaw, with catalog number 2826-20, and serial break “A.” The catalog number can be found on the upper right portion of the product’s nameplate. The serial break level is the 4th digit of the serial number.

The product comes with either a 12” or 14” bar. The product is sold either individually, or as a kit that includes two M18 batteries, an M18 battery charger, a chain , bar cover and a blade wrench.

The chainsaws were sold in store and online through Home Depot and other distribution partners from March 2023 through Sept. 2024 for between $350 to $790.
