On April 9, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the drink charms.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the magnetic drink charms may violate the mandatory standard for magnets as they contain loose magnets. This poses a potential ingestion hazard to children. Ingestion may result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
Are the Drink Charms Recalled?
Yes, Hefei Maitusilu Wangluokeji Youxiangongsi, dba Maitys, of China. announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves Maitys’ drinkware charms. The magnetic charms were sold in sets of 400 multicolored charms with magnetic backings used to attach the charm to glass drinkware.
The drink charms were sold online through Amazon.com from Oct. 2022 through Jan. 2026 for about $8.
