What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled gates violate the mandatory standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures because a child’s torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the LIVACTI Retractable Safety Gates immediately.
Is My Safety Gate Included in this Recall?
The July 24, 2025, recall includes about 1,400 mesh, retractable safety gates with the model number LT-BG01-3. The gates were sold in black, gray, and white and measure about 34 inches high with a retractable width of up to 140 inches. The gate’s frame is made of iron. “Retractable Safety Gate” and the model number are printed on a white label on the side post of the gate.
The LIVACTI Retractable Safety Gates were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from December 2024 through April 2025 for between $55 and $75.
