On April 8, 2020, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notice on the Lenox 2.5 quart tea kettle/pot. The teapot was recalled after the manufacturer received 14 reports of the teapots expelling hot water onto consumers. The spewing of hot water also caused a number of serious burn injuries.
With over 56,000 of these defective teapots on the U.S. market, there is the possibility that the injury count will increase. Here is a picture of the Lenox teapot in gold.
