On March 18, 2026, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an alert to consumers to immediately cease using the neck and shoulders heating pad.
According to the assessment of the FDA, it was found that if the heating pad is folded while in use, the power density may increase in the folded area, which could cause excessive temperatures. Users may notice a burning smell prior to the device overheating. This issue may cause burns to consumers, and could melt or burn the surrounding area.
There are currently four reports of individuals who have experienced serious injuries.
