GT LaBomba Mountain Bike Recall Lawsuit

GT’s LaBomba bicycles have been recalled because they pose a risk of serious injury. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new GT LaBomba bicycle lawsuits. Learn more below.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the weld where the headtube and downtube join can become damaged and separate from the bicycle frame. This could lead to a fall and severe injury. On March 7, 2024, a recall was issued for over 3,040 bikes.

The recall involves GT LaBomba mountain bikes with model years from 2019 through 2023. This includes the following: LaBomba 24” bicycles, LaBomba 26” bicycles, LaBomba Pro bicycles, LaBomba Rigid bicycles, and LaBomba 26” bicycle framesets. These were sold in sea green, green, dusty blue, blue, purple, and red. The model name “LaBomba” is printed on the bicycle frame’s top tube, and “GT” is printed on the downtube.

The CPSC announced that consumers should stop using these bicycles immediately. There have been five reports of the mountain bike headtube separating from the bicycle frame.

The GT LaBomba bicycles were sold at bike stores nationwide from October 2018 through September 2023, with a cost between $400 and $1,450.
