On Aug. 20, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the power station.
According to the CPSC, the power station’s circuit board can overheat, posing a potential risk of serious injury from fire and burn hazards.
There are currently four reports of the power stations catching fire, overheating and smoking.
Are the Power Stations Recalled?
Yes, Goal Zero, of Draper, Utah announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves Goal Zero’s YETI 3000X power stations. The power stations are silver and black and have yellow handles and feature a digital display at the front with electrical ports. They sit on a rolling cart with two built-in wheels and a telescoping handle. The Goal Zero logo is printed on the front bar of the cart and on a nameplate located on the underside of the station’s lid along with “YETI 3000X”.
The power stations were sold in REI stores nationwide and online at Costco.com, Backcountry.com, Goalzero.com and other online retailers from May 2020 through August 2025 for about $3,000.
