GIKPAL Dressers Recall Lawsuit

GIKPAL Dressers (10 drawers) have been recalled. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled home furniture.

What is the Problem?

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children. The CPSC’s recall warns consumers that the dressers violate performance and labeling requirements of the STURDY Act (Stop Tip-overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth). Under the STURDY Act, the following criteria must be met:

  • Stability when the unit is on carpet
  • Stability with loaded drawers and with multiple drawers open
  • A 60-pound child interacting with the unit

Is My Dresser Included in this Recall?

The March 20, 2025, recall includes about 28,590 GIKPAL 10-Drawer Dressers (model number HI118_13). The dressers were sold in brown with black handles and black sides/back. The dressers were sold exclusively online at Walmart.com from September 2023 through January 2025 for about $80.
