On May 7, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the bike helmet.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the helmets may violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets as they may comply with positional stability, labeling and certification requirements. In the event of a crash, the helmets pose a risk of failure to protect the consumer, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury.
Are the Bike Helmets Recalled?
Yes, Shenzhen Favoto Co., Ltd., doing business as Favoto, of China announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves Favoto Model H-1 bike helmets. The helmet is black with red stripes, black padding, black straps with a silver reflective pattern in the center and a black and red buckle with a black chin strap, and were sold in youth size large . “FAVOTO” can be found in white letters on the side of the helmet.
The helmets were sold online through Amazon.com from April 2022 through Jan. 2026 for between $20 and $27.
