Grace Digital, the manufacturer of ECOXGEAR speakers, announced a recall of its EcoBoulder Speakers due to an issue with the battery that can cause it to overcharge and burst.
About 88,000 units are affected by this recall in the United States. There have been five reports of the speaker’s battery bursting into fragments, causing at least two incidents of property damage. There have been no injuries reported yet.
The speakers were sold nationwide in stores and online from January 2018 to December 2018, and in Costco stores from October 2016 to January 2017. They retailed for about $180.
The EcoBoulder speakers are black with a rubber slip mat on top. They are 20″ tall x 15″ wide, and come in four different accent colors.
