DeWALT 70,000 BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced Air Propane Heaters Recall Lawsuit

DeWALT 70,000 BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced Air Propane Heaters have been recalled. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled DeWALT heaters.

What is the Problem?

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled portable heaters’ operating instructions can cause consumers to incorrectly depress the start button too quickly, preventing the fan from starting. This can cause the heaters to overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The CPSC has received at least 11 reports of the recalled products overheating.

Is My Outdoor Heater Included in this Recall?

The April 3, 2025, recall included about 22,000 DeWALT 70,000 BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced Air Propane Heaters (model DXH70CFAVX). The heaters are yellow and black. “DeWALT” is printed in black on the yellow portion of the units.

The DeWALT heaters were sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores nationwide and online at Lowes.com from May 2024 through January 2025 for about $200.

How Common are Portable Heater Injury Fires?

The CPSC estimates that portable heaters were involved in at least 1,700 fires per year, resulting in an average of 70 deaths and 160 injuries annually from 2017 to 2019.
