Countertop Nugget Ice Maker Recall Lawsuit

On Oct. 12, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Gevi Household Countertop Nugget ice makers due to injury hazards.

Black ice maker recalled

According to the CPSC, the ice maker’s metal blades can break, resulting in pieces of metal entering the ice basket and creating a laceration injury hazard.

The company received 263 incident reports of the recalled ice maker’s blades breaking off and entering the ice basket.

Approximately 8,800 units have been recalled.

What ice maker models are included in the recall?

The recall includes Gevi Household Countertop Nugget ice makers with the model number GIMN-1102 and a date code before June 1, 2022. Model numbers and date codes are on the product label at the back of the ice maker.

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled ice makers immediately.
