What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the swings pose a suffocation hazard because they were marked for infant sleep and have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees, which violates the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. The Safe Sleep for Babies Act aims to protect infants by banning crib bumpers and inclined sleepers linked to suffocation risks and sleep-related deaths.
The recall also alleges “the swings fail to meet mandatory warning requirements under the swing standard and are missing the required warnings and instructions for consumer products containing button cell and coin batteries under Reese’s Law.” The law is intended to reduce the risk of injury and death from ingestion or choking on button cells or coin batteries by children six years of age and younger.
