Bedsure Electric Heating Blankets & Pads Recall Lawsuit

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a recall notice of Bedshe International’s electric blanket and electric heating pads due to fire hazards and burn injury reports. The products were recalled on Mar. 9, 2023.

Why were the electric blankets and heating pads recalled?

According to the CPSC, the recalled electric blankets and heating pads pose a risk of burn injury. The controller can malfunction and catch fire, causing injuries and property damage.

Bedshe International received 137 reports of electric blankets and heating pads overheating and catching fire in homes, causing minor property damage. 17 reports of burn injuries were reported, with one record of second-degree burns.

350,000 units have been recalled.

Which models were recalled?

The recalled electric blankets included the following model numbers:

  • BS-HB5060
  • BS-HB6284
  • BS-HB7284
  • BS-LV0A

The recall includes electric blanket models in throw, twin and full sizes made from flannel and/or sherpa. The blankets came in the following sizes:

  • 50” x 60”
  • 62” x 84”
  • 72” x 84”

Electric heating blankets were sold in the following colors; beige, black, blue, blue plaid, brown, light gray, dark gray, gray plaid, dark green, navy, red, red & cream plaid, and red plaid.

The recalled electric heating pads included the following model numbers:

  • BS-HP2422
  • BS-HP1224
  • BS-HP2433

Bedsure electric heating pads came in the following sizes:

  • 12” x 24”
  • 24” x 22”
  • 24” x 33”

The heating pads came in brown, gray, and teal colors.

The CPSC recommends consumers to cease using the recalled electric blankets and heating pads.
