Anderson Windows Window Opening Control Devices Recall Lawsuit

On Feb. 26, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the Anderson Windows window stop.

According to the assessment of CPSC, the window stop may break or detach after accidental or other impact, which could allow the window to be opened, posing a fall or serious injury hazard.

There are currently eight reports of the devices breaking, detaching or malfunctioning.

Are the Anderson Windows Window Stops Recalled?

Yes, Andersen Windows, Inc., of Bayport, Minnesota announced a product safety recall.

This recall involves window stops that may have been sold individually as kits, or as factory-installed accessories, and applied to 100 Series casement windows that were manufactured prior to Nov. 19, 2025.

The window stops were sold through Independent window distributors and online at parts.andersenwindows.com from Oct. 2015 through Dec. 2025 for between $9 (individual kit) to $220 (factory installed on 100 series casement window).
