On March 19, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the pocket knife.
According to the assessment of CPSC, the folding mechanism of the blade may fail to remain properly secured in the closed position. This poses a potential laceration hazard to consumers.
There is currently one report of the blade not remaining properly secured in the closed position
Are the Amazon Basic Camping Pocket Knives Recalled?
Yes, Amazon.com Services LLC, of Seattle, Washington announced a product safety recall.
This recall involves the Amazon Basics Camping Folding Pocket Knife with a 3.5” blade. It is made from black high carbon stainless steel. The model number is:

With featured manufacturing lot codes found on the side of the box packaging of:
- (MLC) C25021766FJO
- C25090466FJO
- C25090566FJO
The pocket knives were sold through Amazon.com from Aug. 2025 through Feb. 2026 for about $30.
