On Aug. 20, 2026, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using the gas and carbon monoxide detectors.
According to the CPSC, the detectors can fail to alert consumers to the presence of hazardous carbon monoxide, which could result in severe injury, or death.
There are currently 91 reports of the detectors failing to alarm in the presence of gas and/or carbon monoxide leaks.
Are the Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detectors Recalled?
No, Shenzhen Kanghua Shengshi Industrial Co., LTD dba KH Alert of China, has not agreed to recall these detectors.
This warning involves 4 in 1 Plug in Natural Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detectors Model KH158. The detectors were sold under the following brand names: ARIKON, ELECOIN, FLUNGSKY, HAOKESITE, Hembisen, JNHCD, KAKIMENT, KH Alert, KOABBIT, NICGOL, NORJAN, OUMEBIU, Sooguard, Vilfet, Vzmcov, WESHLGD, XLA Alert, YOJOCK.
The detectors are made of white, gray, or black plastic and feature a digital display. There is a button with the words “SELF-TEST” on the front of the detectors. To the left of the “SELF-TEST” button are three indicator lights, one green with “POWER” printed below, one yellow with “FAULT” printed below, and one red with “ALARM” printed below.
The gas and carbon monoxide detectors have been sold online through Amazon.com, eBay.com, AliExpress, microcenter.com and snapklik.com in single and multipacks from June 2024 through July 2026 for between $13 and $140.
