On January 28, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a notice that Oskri Organics Corporation of Lake Mills, WI recalled all of its nut butters after a variety of its products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The recent recall was issued after a previous recall at the beginning of January that Oskri Organics Sunflower Butter, Tahini Butter, and Thrive Sunflower Butter had potential to be contaminated with Listeria. On December 18, 2018, a customer

informed the company they randomly tested its product and it came back positive for Listeria. This prompted Oskri to investigate its production and distribution of the products.
Listeria is a serious infection that can sometimes be fatal for young children, seniors and others with compromised immune systems. Symptoms of listeria include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Listeria is especially dangerous for pregnant women because it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
All of the Oskri Organics nut butters were manufactured at the beginning of January 2018 and contain Best By dates of June 2020 (6/20) or earlier. It includes almond, cashew, coconut, peanut, pumpkin, sunflower, and tahini sold in 16 oz. plastic jars.
The products were distributed in NY, MI, CA, PA, OH, WI, NH, IL, FL, MA, TX, AZ, IN, ID, OR, SC, and RI.
