Johnson//Becker Files Lawsuit in Wisconsin Federal Court Over Defective Royal Prestige Pressure Cooker Injuries

Johnson//Becker, PLLC, is a nationwide law firm experienced in pressure cooker litigation. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker have represented over 800 individuals injured by pressure cookers. The firm has filed a product liability lawsuit on behalf of Karla Molina and Montserrat Perez against Hy Cite Enterprises, LLC in the U.S. Federal Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.

The complaint alleges that Ms. Molina and Mr. Perez, residents of North Las Vegas, Nevada, suffered “serious and substantial” injuries when using the Hy Cite Royal Prestige pressure cooker. The four built in safety features of the pressure cooker failed while in use. The lid was “able to be rotated and opened” while the unit was still under pressure. As a result, the scalding contents inside were forcefully ejected from the cooker, covering both Ms. Molina and Mr. Perez, and causing significant injuries.

The lawsuit asserts that despite marketing the product as equipped with four built-in “safety” mechanisms, the pressure cooker “possess defects that make them unreasonably dangerous for their intended use by consumers.” It goes on to state that Hy Cite “knew or should have known of these defects,” yet placed profit ahead of safety and failed to properly warn consumers of the risks.
Johnson//Becker attorney Adam J. Kress filed the suit. Mr. Kress exclusively handles injury cases, with an emphasis on national products liability litigation, including cases involving injuries from defective pressure cookers.
