Adam R. Strauss is an attorney in the firm’s Settlement Department. Adam understands that settlement is often the most important issue for his clients, which is why he takes a meticulous approach to each settlement and proactively solves problems through attention to detail. He advises on all matters that affect a settlement, including lien resolution, probate, bankruptcy, government benefits, health insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, minor settlements, release agreements, confidentiality, incapacitated persons, structured settlements, trusts, and settlement planning.

Adam is an accomplished and energetic attorney with a comprehensive legal background. He is passionate about equal access to justice, consumer protection, and financial inclusion. Adam believes Johnson Becker’s track record for taking on high-stakes injury and consumer protection matters aligns closely with his personal values.

Prior to joining Johnson Becker, Adam established and co-created the consumer law practice at a plaintiff’s firm in Minneapolis, MN. Adam managed complex civil disputes, with an emphasis on consumer protection, consumer financial services, and litigation involving federal laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA, TILA, EFTA, ECOA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC). He regularly advised on issues relating to invasion of privacy, lending practices, debt collection, consumer credit, payments, credit reporting, repossession, consumer loans, and consumer fraud. Adam also served as co-lead counsel on multiple class actions.

Adam lives in Golden Valley, MN with his wife Emma, whom he met at the University of Kansas, and his daughter Hannah.
