What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the backrest fold mechanism can pinch consumers’ fingers, posing hazards of laceration and amputation. Coleman and the CPSC have received at least seven reports of the seatback adjustment mechanism pinching consumers’ fingers, including two reports of fractured fingers. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the cots and stretchers immediately.
Is My Cot or Suspension Stretcher Included in this Recall?
The June 26, 2025, recall included about 290,000 Coleman Converta Camping Cots and Converta Camping Suspension Stretchers. Included in the recall are Coleman Converta Camping Cots (model numbers 2000003077 and 2000020282) and Coleman Converta Camping Suspension Stretchers (model number 2000020290). The model numbers are printed on a tag attached to the frame. The cots and stretchers feature tan or white fabric with the Coleman logo printed on it. The frames are black steel with adjustable seatbacks and leg positions.
The Coleman Converta cots and suspension stretchers were sold at Walmart and other stores nationwide, as well as on Amazon.com, from January 2011 through March 2025, for between $60 and $80.
