What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled ride-on toys can overheat due to improper wiring, posing a fire hazard. The CPSC has received at least 20 incidents of the Huffy Torex UTVs smoking or catching fire, including at least five burn injuries. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the UTVs immediately.
Is My UTV Ride-on Toy Included in this Recall?
The April 24, 2025, recall includes about 24,700 Huffy Torex 24V UTV Ride-on Toys. The cars are black with red trim and measure 53 inches long, 43 inches wide, and 27 inches tall. “Torex” is printed on the front and side of the ride-on toys. The recalled products are one of two model numbers, 17249 and 17310. The model numbers can be found under the body of the Huffy Torex near the rear wheels.
The Huffy Torex UTVs were sold exclusively at Walmart and Walmart.com from August 2019 through December 2024 for between $500 and $600.
