George Oliver Dressers Recall Lawsuit

George Oliver Dressers have been recalled. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled home furniture.

What is the Problem?

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled dressers are unstable if not properly anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards. The CPSC recall stated, “The dressers violate the STURDY Act’s performance and warning label requirements.” STURDY stands for “Stop Tip-overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth.” Under the STURDY Act, the following criteria must be met:

  • Stability when the unit is on carpet
  • Stability with loaded drawers and with multiple drawers open
  • A 60-pound child interacting with the unit

The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the dressers immediately.

Is My Dresser Included in this Recall?

The March 27, 2025, recall included about 220 George Oliver Dressers. The six-drawer, wooden double dressers measure about 31 inches tall, 47 inches wide, and 15 ½ inches deep. The dressers were sold in a cream color.

The dressers were sold exclusively at Wayfair.com from September 2024 through March 2025 for about $275.
