Pita Pal Hummus Recall Lawsuit

Over ten brand name hummus products manufactured by Pita Pal were recalled nationwide after an FDA inspection detected listeria contamination.

UPDATE: As of April 2021, there has been a Sabra Hummus recall initiated due to salmonella poisoning.

(July 16, 2019) The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall notice on certain varieties of hummus and dips due to a possible listeria contamination.

Pita Pal Foods, LP based out of Houston, TX. issued the voluntary recall on its hummus products after Listeria monocytogenes were detected during an FDA inspection of the manufacturing facility.

The products were sold in stores nationwide, as well as United Arab Emirates. Some of them go under brand names of Schnucks, Roundy’s, Reasor’s, Pita Pal, Lidl, Lantana, Hummus Hummus, Harris Teeter, Fresh Thyme, and Bucee’s. Additionally, many of the products were sold at 7-Eleven stores under the brand name 7-Select. Those were:

Some of the products were sold in Trader Joe’s stores as well, but only in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Those were:
